It’s an exciting time! You’re likely feeling a mix of excitement, nerves, and anticipation. But one thing is certain–the moment you meet your new baby will be one of the most beautiful memories of your life.

We want to help you cherish every moment of your pregnancy from conception through delivery and beyond. We know how important the relationship is with a family and your provider. We also know that creating a nurturing and supportive environment is key, which is why we designed our facilities and services with you in mind. We are experts in caring for you and your little bundle of joy on the way, so we’ve personalized every aspect to be sure you receive the best of care here.
We talk a lot about the little things that go into your Parkside Experience and that’s especially true of our expectant families. We aspire to make you feel at home here. And, to put your mind at ease, our doctors are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our partnerships with the Breastfeeding Center at Parkside and Parkside Pediatrics offer the unique opportunity for you to obtain seamless care and be prepared as you transition into motherhood. This helps make it easier for you to establish care with incredibly supportive providers you know are trusted, and most importantly, helps you feel confident with the care of your new baby. You can also schedule a Pre-natal Lactation Consult with the Breastfeeding Center at Parkside BEFORE your baby is born.

Calculation method
The first appointment should be scheduled 8 weeks from the first day of your last period, unless otherwise specified by your physician.
Parkside patients will deliver at Patewood Hospital, located on Prisma’s Patewood Medical Campus in the heart of Greenville, SC.
We recommend that women who plan to have children begin taking prenatal vitamins once they reach child-bearing age (20+).
On average, a woman will have 13 visits between conception and delivery. The actual number of appointments will vary based on a patients needs as well as their individual healthcare coverage.
Most women can expect 2 ultrasounds throughout their pregnancy.
DNA testing can identify gender at 10 weeks or the Anatomy scan (ultrasound) can identify gender at 20 weeks.
Most women can continue working out during pregnancy, but should consult with your care provider prior to beginning any workout regiment.

Getting Ready for Birth & Recovery

Our class is intended to empower patients nearing the end of their pregnancy by educating them on how to prepare for the hospital, what to expect for both mom and baby, advice for their partners on how to help, and more. We also will discuss common things that can alter your birth plan so that you feel more prepared and less anxious if they occur! This class meets at Parkside OB-GYN once a month from 6:00-8:30 pm. Tickets are $50. Reserve your spot by registering above.

Laboring Positions

This class will go into detail on laboring positions. Physical Therapist, Dr. Laura Romeo, will explain progression of baby’s decent through the pelvis and how you can use positioning to open different levels of the pelvis during each stage of labor. This class will also touch on options for those that have an epidural with strong leg movement and even for those that have no leg movement and are limited to side-lying and on their back. Tickets are $50. Reserve your spot by registering above.

Breastfeeding Basics

This class is perfect for expecting parents who want to learn the “ins and outs” of breastfeeding. Taught by a International Board Certified Lactation Consultants, this class meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Breastfeeding Center at Parkside: Verdae location. Tickets are $20. Baby Basics

As a new mom, you’ll have many questions when it comes to your newborn. Join other new moms along with our very own Certified Lactation Consultants for Baby Basics. Specifically designed for moms with babies under 12 weeks, this class will put your mind at ease. We meet every Thursday at 10am at the Breastfeeding Center at Parkside: Verdae. This class is free and no registration is required!

Mom Tribe

Are you a mom seeking connection, understanding, and a space to share your experiences? This group is geared towards expectant moms and moms with babies – whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle feeding. Held at the Breastfeeding Center at Parkside: Reidville Rd location, every Tuesday at 2:30. This class is free and no registration is required!
